French Lantern
This
decidedly French lantern is an example of the beauty and grace achieved in
industrial design. Exact replica of the Colonial Army lanterns that
would hang over the table where strategy maps were laid-out, or where the
evening meal was served. Fitted with a high-quality original
oil-burner, the attention to details such as the aged bronze finish and hand
blown glass, make this reproduction an outstanding example of craftsmanship.
Hand built from brass and copper parts, reflectors are chrome plated for
maximum lighting. Originals of these French lanterns are very rare,
due to the fact that all army inventory was melted down during World War II
to make bullet casings. A wonderful opportunity to own a reproduction
that will recall the history of the French Colonial Army while quartered in
Tahiti, Casablanca, Martinique or Saigon.
